The first advertisement of Jeb Bush that I want to talk
about is in his 2016 campaign and the new strategy of fighting back primarily
against Donald Trump. Jeb Bush used to sit back and take the verbal attacks
from Trump, but that is no longer. He is now the one fighting back and doing
the attacks on Trump. This makes him seem more aggressive and is what the
people have been wanting to see out of him in terms of being a strong leader
and not a passive one. In the advertisement Jeb even goes to say that Trump is
no Republican at all. His strategy of being more aggressive towards Trump is
really being seen by the people and they are listening to him more than ever. The
biggest significance of this all is that Trump in a way has been able to define
who Jeb Bush is by his attacks and now he is fighting back with vengeance. I
feel as if you don’t fight back then the people will think what Trump has to
say to be true. This is more of an attack ad in that Jeb is no longer going to
be defined by him and strike back. What Jeb is doing is great in overcoming one
of his weaknesses in that the people are starting to see an assertive Jeb.
The next advertisement that I want to talk about is an
online advertisement that paints a dark picture for Donald Trump. This video
had a huge impact to me on the importance of the people with video of Donald
saying “the people are stupid” and that the “American Dream” is dead. Jeb’s
strategy here is to focus on the importance that everyone has equal
opportunity. Even immigrants should be made important and find ways to help
them and not just get rid of them as a whole. This is definitely an attack ad
in that how Trump talks about people is not right and that Jeb sees everyones
as equals. Instead of bashing the American Dream he goes to say that America’s
brightest days are ahead of us. As a listener I’d rather have hope than to hear
things like what Trump is saying.the reason Trump has been so successful with the viewers is because he does all the bashing and now its Jebs turn to get him back. I believe these strategies of making Trump the "bad person" will make Jeb more of a front runner or at least attain more respect from the people.
